Roots & Boards
A Denton Community Shed
Building skills. Growing community. Creating together.
Our Mission
Roots & Boards exists to create a shared shed space where people can learn practical skills, work with their hands, and grow—both individually and as a community.
Through gardening, woodworking, and shared projects, we focus on process over perfection, learning by doing, and building confidence through steady, supported practice.

Partner With Us to Help Grow
At Roots & Boards, we believe that strong communities are built from the ground up — and that starts with shared spaces to learn, create, and grow together.
We’re currently in the beta stage of launching our Gardening Pilot Program, and we’re looking for:
Land Partners
Do you have land, a large yard, or unused green space in or near Denton?
Help us cultivate it into a community garden where residents can learn sustainable growing practices, connect with neighbors, and improve local food security.
We handle the setup, maintenance, and programming — you provide the space!
Business & Organization Partners
Local businesses and organizations play a key role in helping Roots & Boards bring hands-on learning to the community. We welcome partnerships and any donations of tools, garden materials, lumber, plants, safety gear, and other resources that support our woodworking and gardening pilots. By contributing, you’re not only helping us create accessible programs — you’re also connecting your brand with a mission centered on skill-building, creativity, sustainability, and community wellness. Your support directly equips participants, reduces operational costs, and allows us to offer high-quality experiences that make a measurable impact
